Innovation business plan competition NIF$50k in Kazakhstan

Every year, National Innovation Fund organizes countrywide competition of business-plans «NIF$50K».

 

The NIF$50k competition involves students (bachelors and masters) from universities, regardless of the form of education, postgraduate and doctoral candidates, and students of professional schools who are not older than 30 years old.  Team-winner receives a grant in the amount of 50 thousand US dollars for development of their business-projects represented in the frames of the competition. 

 

First NIF$50k competition took place in Kazakhstan in 2005.  The winner became a team “Data-X” (Shymkent) with a project “Internet resource-center.”

 

Winner of the year 2006 – team “New Wave” (Ust-Kamenogorsk) represented a project “Modernization of computing equipment for computer classes with utilization of advanced informational technologies.”   Sponsor of the competition – Shell Company - awarded a special prize of 25 thousand US dollars to a team ECO-PR for the best environmental project. 

Winner of 2007 – team “Keremet” (Astana) with a project of  “Creation of internet-oriented translation system from Russian to Kazakh and vice versa.”
In 2007, the competition was supported by Microsoft Kazakhstan, Cisco, and Glotur companies
