III Innovation Congress of Kazakhstan

April 25, 2007, the III Innovation Congress took place in Almaty.The Congress united over 450 people from 280 companies of 18 countries. During the Congress, there was organized a Venture Fair representing over 50 projects. Program of the Congress included organization of plenary meetings, round tables in four areas (informational technologies, biotechnologies, food industry technologies, and technologies of hydrocarbons refining), seminars on financing mechanisms of innovation activity in Kazakhstan, questions about intellectual property protection, process of submission of applications to Kazakhstani venture funds, techno-parks, and Park of informational technologies “Alatau” for innovation projects and experimental design works realization.

Round table discussions covered issues of the area; participants represented innovation projects and considered opportunity of financing 15 projects.

During the Congress, JSC “Sustainable Development Fund “Kazyna” and “Shell” company signed a Memorandum about Mutual Understanding and Collaboration. And winners of the «Start-up Kazakhstan» competition were honored during the award ceremony.
